The Case For Replacement
On average a new garbage disposal can range in price.
So why would you choose to have a qualified plumber such as Davis Plumbing & Drain Service do the replacement for you? Because when we install our unit, then we are able to warranty both the labor AND the parts for 1 full year. This eliminates any risk of your having to deal with repair or replacement of the unit during that first year. In reality this eliminates almost ALL of your risk, because 99% of the time if there are problems they will happen in the first year, and, in our experience, the unit we install usually lasts between 8 to 10 years before needing to be replaced.
Davis Plumbing will install your replacement garbage disposal for a fair price – call for a Free Quote!
Again, the advantage to you is that your disposal unit AND the labor is covered for one year. We will take care of absolutely any problems that may arise during that first year with your disposal at zero cost to you. Or if you provide your own disposal unit and just want us to install it, then we only warranty the labor, and NOT the part.

The Case For (Against) Repair
The truth is that repairing your garbage disposal is hardly ever preferable to just replacing it. A few supporting arguments for this include:
- More often than not, when a disposal goes bad there is actually nothing repairable about it. The type of failure is usually such that the label we see on many modern electronic devices applies – “No Consumer Repairable Parts Inside.”
- Most disposals only have a 1 to 2 year factory warranty. When it is repairable, but the warranty has expired, the cost of having a plumber perform the repair may be close to what you would pay for a new one.
- Going along with the point above, a manufacturer’s warranty only covers the parts – NOT the labor. So, even if you do have your unit repaired under warranty, you will still have to pay to have it re-installed, or else do it yourself.
